Maltese school at Athens education summit

Staff members of the Margaret Mortimer Girls' Junior Lyceum took part in a summit for European education ministers, held in Athens.

A total of 25 EU and candidate countries took part in the summit, using a video conferencing system for the first time.

During the video conference, each school introduced itself and gave a brief presentation on how information and communication technology is used for educational purposes in schools.

The Margaret Mortimer Junior Lyceum said it was pleased to note that, like other Maltese state schools, it was faring well in comparison with schools in the EU, as regards information and communications technology training and skills among local students and the adult population.

The video conference system used the internet to transmit live video and audio to the 25 participating European countries.
