The association relies on its members to finance its activities. Consumers are requested to pay a membership fee of Lm1 a year or 50c if they are pensioners.
Members are eligible to attend the annual general meeting and can be elected to the council. The association has, on occasions, been granted financial aid or in kind, by Government.
Two council members compile regular consumer affairs columns. Manwel Farrugia's column is published every fortnight on Friday in L-Orizzont, while Adrian Muscat Inglott's column is published every Sunday in The Sunday Times. Apart from writing about important consumer-related issues they feature cases referred to them by consumers subject to specific terms and conditions.
On March 15 every year, consumer associations worldwide celebrate World Consumer Rights Day.
