The misinformation spread by the MLP, in the vain hope of frightening voters in the referendum, is spewed with gay abandon.

Felix Agius was this morning (February 27) brazenly repeating the chestnut about overtime regulations in the EU. Now as Mr Agius should know, this directive is aimed at employers, who cannot force employees to do more than eight hours overtime. Of course, if employees are willing to do more than eight hours, there is nothing to stop them.

This directive, which seeks to protect workers from being dictated to do more overtime than they would like is being turned on its head.

Is this how the Labour Party wants to lead us into its "Partnership" folly?

I happen to know first hand that this interpretation of the overtime regulation is yet another howler by the Labour Party.

I have lived in the UK since 1963 until my return in 1992. In my last job at Iver Precision Engineering of Edinburgh Road, Slough, I used to average 22 hours overtime. There were others who used to do even more. We used to be asked, never compelled one way or the other.

I have recently heard that in the credibility stakes the GWU is rated below zero. Is the Labour Party competing with their allies for an even lower rating?
