Ten sculptures will soon be on their way to Brussels to take part in a competition organised by the European Union.

Schools in Malta were invited by the Delegation of the European Commission and the Maltese Education Department to send paintings or sculptures. The St Joseph the Workers boys school in Marsa leapt at the chance, art teacher Anthony Briffa said.

A total of 86 students used their art lessons and free time to create the 10 wooden pieces, on the theme of "Impressions of Malta".
