A 95-year-old man from Sta Lucija died early yesterday morning after a fire broke out in his home in Oleander Avenue.

The police said that Civil Protection Department personnel put out the fire but found the man dead on the floor near his bed. The cause of the fire is not known.

Duty Magistrate Jacqueline Padovani Grima was informed about the accident.

Paola district police are investigating.
