The police last year arraigned 18 persons on charges of child abuse. One was acquitted, one was fined and given a suspended sentence while the remaining cases were still pending, Home Affairs Minister Tonio Borg said in reply to a parliamentary question by Labour MP Adrian Vassallo.

Replying to another question by Dr Vassallo he said that last year the police arraigned 35 persons for committing immoral acts in public.
