82 hours secluded in bedroom

Sarah Pettingam, an 18-year-old from Sliema, has won the Bay Street Bedroom Challenge having completed over 82 hours secluded in a bedroom set up in the Artisan Market.

Sarah was declared winner after her competitor, Yeda Spiteri Thomas, dropped out of the contest after 48 hours.

She won a brand new bedroom courtesy of CBR Furniture of Luqa, Lm82 in cash courtesy of Nidal Binni, owner of the Made in America outlet at Bay Street, a pair of shoes from King Shoes and various other gifts from Street Craft, Tafal Ceramics, Renaissance Gift Wear, Zero Two, Village Voices and Allegra Compagnia.

During their stay in the bedroom, the contestants were not allowed to have any communication with the outside world.

The contest also served as a fundraising event for the Ghana Mission Foundation which has now reached the Lm28,000 mark towards the building of a health centre in Ghana.
