Mtarfa council congratulated

Mtarfa local council has carried out 92 per cent of its electoral programme, Labour leader Alfred Sant said yesterday during a visit to the locality.

Dr Sant was taken to the area known as "the Scenic Walk" behind Dar il-Kaptan, overlooking Chadwick Lakes, where the road has cracked, exposing deep holes beneath.

Mayor Josephine Abela said this was very dangerous but the council had up to now been ignored in its pleas for the road to be repaired.

It had considered shouldering the responsibility and doing the repairs itself but has been advised against this, she said.
