Three people with disability will be moved into a three-bedroom apartment in Kirkop towards the end of this month, the Sapport agency said.

The agency opened its first residential home in an apartment in Fgura in November, 2002, where three people are now living with the necessary support.

At the beginning of this month, it inaugurated the ground floor of Vajrita residence, a 12-unit apartment complex in Marsascala, where each unit has its own private kitchen, dining, living area, bathroom and one or two bedrooms.

Work is also underway on a five-bedroom bungalow in Mtarfa, which is currently being furnished in preparation for five individuals. It also plans to start renovation works on a four-bedroom house in Cospicua and a three-bedroom maisonette in Mosta.

Sapport Agency, formerly known as the supported living division of the Foundation for Social Welfare Services, was established in 2001. It provides residential and community services to disabled persons, and was set up following concerns by parents with regards to the future of their disabled children once they could no longer support them.
