The General Workers' Union Youths executive said yesterday that youths in Malta would be threatened by foreigners competing for their jobs and by higher property prices, if Malta were to become an EU member.

The GWU Youths said in a statement that when voting in the referendum, youths should remember the union's recommendation that EU membership was not in Malta's interest.
