The General Workers' Union has suspended discussions with Enemalta over the corporation's collective agreement, which expired in December, 2001.

The union said in a statement that no agreement could be reached on wage increases. It has declared an industrial dispute, warning that it would announce industrial action unless a positive reply from the corporation were received in the near future.
