The Broadcasting Authority has turned down an application by the General Workers' Union for the union to air spots and productions as part of its anti-EU membership campaign, the GWU said yesterday.

The GWU said in a statement that the BA had not considered the request to be compatible with the Broadcasting Act.

The union said that as the union representing the largest number of workers in Malta, it had every right to inform its members about the effect of EU membership on workers.
