This year, I attended for the first time the Malta Song Festival, which was held at Ta' Qali. Without going into the pros and cons of whether the festival should be held there, I was disappointed that as a Vodafone mobile subscriber, on both days, I could not vote for my preferred song/singer.

The reason is that Maltacom, as one of the festival's main sponsors, barred all Vodafone mobile users from calling any of the given numbers to cast their votes, as this facility was only available to go mobile users.

If the audience at home (who did not pay anything to watch the festival) could vote for their preferred song/singer, should the audience in the hall not also have the same opportunity? For how long can we tolerate such discrimination?
