Flogging a lame horse
I support Michael Seifert's letter (February 1). It is very refreshing to see someone who does not wish to get involved in Malta's political doings, a prudent decision made by most Germans.
I cannot see what the last war has to do with life 60 years on. Why should we jump on the same band wagon that the British are still running. We were pushed into that war and afterwards we were as badly treated as if we were the enemy. While I am not a Labourite, Mr Mintoff saved our pride, whatever one may say.
Surely the Germans acknowledge their forebears' error, but must we keep flogging the same lame horse? For what purpose? I did business with Germany and have visited Germany many times. I have German friends and none of those whom I met had horns on their heads. Yet the British seem to have a chip on their shoulders and we inherited that attitude. We are supposed to be a welcoming country.
Mr Seifert, do not feel humiliated. Just shrug stupid, uninformed coments like water off a duck's back.
