Week Five of the Honda League was played last week at the Eden SuperBowl, with Aercomms joining the title chase after a sound showing against Toons Two.
Aercomms are equal on points with Fina First, who, however, have a match in hand as their fixture against sister team Fina Excel was postponed. Dab Beer suffered a beating at the hands of Technicolor while Playzone are fourth after beating Ramis with the highest team series of the season to date.
Aercomms chalked up their second 8-0 victory in a row. Although their performance could have been better, they were under little threat from their opponents. The scores ran in Aercomms' favour - 697-799, 679-739 and 715-731 with Clive Farrugia rolling a 581 for the winners.
Big scores for Playzone
All-female team Playzone struck a mighty blow for 'girl power' as they came out with all guns blazing in their match against Ramis, hitting them with monster scores of 924 and 902 in games one and two.
This gave Playzone a 194-pin advantage as they went into game three with victory all but guaranteed. They finished with a 754 against an 831 from Ramis to give the latter a deserved two points.
The match produced the highest team series to date (Playzone - 2,580 pins). Ramis had the second highest of the night with 2,458. Melissa Camenzuli rolled a 656 series, including a 266, for Playzone.
Dab Beer were dealt a confidence check, in the form of a surprise 8-0 thrashing at the hands of an impressive Technicolor side. It was also 8-0 in the match between Dream Team and Royal Shock. Dream Team gathered momentum over the three games which went 703-729, 684-755 and 724-772 in their favour.
Duwpa Company shook off the effects of losing 8-0 to Aercomms in their previous outing with a 6-2 win over lowly Globalair Travel.
