Obituary

BORG. On February 9, EMANUEL, aged 80, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his children, Mary, widow of Spiru, George and his wife Rita, Carmen and her husband Joe, Antoinette and her husband Frans, Josephine, Monica and her husband Anthony, his in-laws, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other family and friends. - R.I.P.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital today at 2.45 p.m. for the Annunciation parish church, Tarxien, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3 p.m. followed by interment at ta' l-Erwieh Cemetery, Tarxien. Donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi will be appreciated. The family regrets they are unable to receive visitors.

BUGEJA. On February 9, GUZEPPI, widower of Anna, of Qormi and residing with his daughter in Birkirkara, aged 88, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his six children, Joe and his wife Jean, Connie and her husband Anthony Meli, Rose and her husband Anthony Schembri, Carmen and her husband Anthony Mifsud, Raymond and his wife Virginia, Maria and her husband Charlie Bezzina, grandchildren, great grand daughter, in-laws, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.-R.I.P.
Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m. tomorrow at Santa Maria church (Knisja l-Qadima), Birkirkara followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi will be greatly appreciated.

Bay Street Competition

Ilene Mercieca from Xaghra, Gozo has won a Piaggio motorcycle sponsored by the Demajo Group following her participation in the Bay Street Shop and Win campaign.

Junior Lyceum Exams

Examinations for entry into Forms II to V of the Junior Lyceum will be held in June/July 2003, the Department of Education said.

Applications may be obtained either from the school where the candidate is attending or from Joyce Borg, executive officer, customer care unit, Education Division, Floriana, or from the Education Office, Victoria, as from tomorrow.

The closing date for these applications is noon of Friday, February 28. More information may be obtained from the Government Gazette of February 7.

Vodafone Rates Today

All Vodafone customers will be charged at off-peak rates for calls made today, a public holiday, the company said. All calls from a Vodafone account are charged on a per second basis.

Road Works

Part of Borg Olivier Street, Mellieha, will be closed tomorrow between 8.30 a.m. and 1 p.m., because of urgent works, Mellieha local council said.
