Under the auspices of the University's Department of Family Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, the Malta College of Family Doctors (MCFD) will be organising its winter Continuing Professional Development meeting on "The Future of Family Medicine in Malta and the Role of the Malta College of Family Doctors". This is to be held between Wednesday and Friday at 8.30 p.m. in the Conference Hall of the University of Malta Medical School, Guardamangia.
The objectives of the meeting are to tackle issues of relevance in the EU directives to family medicine; to involve representatives of the Health Division and the Medical Association of Malta (MAM) in these issues; to familiarise family doctors with local developments such as vocational training, membership by examination; to acquaint family doctors with the MCFD's involvement in these and other academic issues and to provide a forum for discussion of these and other matters.
The speakers include Dr Adrian Micallef, Dr Philip Sciortino and Dr Jean Karl Soler on behalf of the MCFD; Dr Stephen Fava and Dr Tonio Xuereb (MAM) and Dr Ray Busuttil, Director-General (Health). The meeting is being sponsored by Delta Pharmaceuticals.
All medical practitioners and senior medical students are invited to attend. The Malta College of Family Doctors will accredit participation.
