Bank Of Valletta and the Airline Pilots Association of Malta (ALPA) have reached a three-year agreement, signed by Jonathan Fenech Adami, head of BoV's Business Development Department, and association president Captain Anton Galea.
Under this agreement, the association and its affiliated members will be enjoying a number of banking benefits.
Mr Fenech Adami said that Bank of Valletta has always striven to establish a close working relationship with professional bodies such as that of the airline pilots.
The first airline pilots' union, then known as the Airline Pilots and Flight Engineers Union (APFEU), was established in 1980 by a group of 11 First Officers and five flight engineers employed by Air Malta.
A committee was elected with the mandate to formulate the union's statute, to register the union and to obtain recognition from its members' employer, Air Malta.
ALPA-Malta today represents all the Maltese pilots employed with Air Malta - a total of 135 members.
