The Labour Party has written to the Broadcasting Authority about two Public Broadcasting Services programmes which it feels were not balanced. It referred to the news bulletin on Sunday during which a feature on the EU negotiations was broadcast, portraying the achievements in a positive light.

The MLP described the feature as propaganda. It said it was not balanced and did not include the MLP's criticism of the negotiations.

It also referred to a programme on Gozo, Ghawdex Illum, that is being aired tomorrow. The MLP said the programme was being shown at prime time on Wednesday and would be dealing with the EU negotiations.

"It is clear that PBS's intention is for the programme to be propaganda in favour of EU membership," it said in the letter.

The MLP has asked the BA to take immediate steps to ensure balance in the programme.
