Final second round ties rescheduled for Wednesday

Officials in charge of the Malta FA fixtures have had to reschedule the entire Premier League programme earmarked for last weekend as yesterday's two matches at the Hibernians Ground were also postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

On Saturday, the eagerly anticipated encounters, Valletta vs Floriana and Birkirkara vs Sliema Wanderers, had fallen victim to the inclement weather that gripped the Maltese islands in the last few days.

These ties will now take place tomorrow, in the same sequence, at the National Stadium. First match starts at 6 p.m.

Yesterday morning, the Premier League matches Marsax-lokk vs Hamrun Spartans and Pietà Hotspurs vs Hibernians, were also called off after the pitch at the Hibs Ground failed an inspection.

These two matches, the last from the second round of the Premier League, have now been switched to the Centenary Stadium on Wednesday. Marsaxlokk vs Hamrun will kick off at 6 p.m., followed by the Pietà-Hibernians duel at 8 p.m.

The HSBC Youth League matches, Rabat Ajax vs Pietà Hotspurs and Qormi vs Balzan Youths, originally scheduled for Wednesday at the Centenary Stadium, will now be played at a later date.

This evening, two Division One matches will be played at the Centenary Stadium after their postponement yesterday. Lija Athletic take on Xghajra Tornadoes at 6 p.m. while Balzan Youths square up to Mqabba in the second match at 8 p.m.
