The General Workers' Union is preparing to resort to industrial action at the Air Supplies company after the two sides failed to see eye-to-eye on the financial package in the collective agreement, at a meeting on Friday.

The union's aviation and maritime section informed the employees of Air Supplies to be prepared for any directives it could issue imminently.

Secretary Emanuel Zammit informed the company that it would take industrial action unless concrete proposals were presented within 48 hours.

The collective agreement expired on March 31, 2000.
