As regular readers know, we regularly feature various lists in our column. They include no-smoking restaurants; suppliers offering good guarantees; suppliers with a money-back policy; and photo processing outlets with reasonable prices.
A very important factor about these lists is that if any of these suppliers do not give you what is promised in our lists, you must inform me accordingly. I shall investigate and, if it transpires that any of these suppliers are not honouring their promises, I shall have no option but to remove them from the list. In some cases it could transpire that there was a misunderstanding. Indeed so far we have only had one such case and it was a misunderstanding.
Here follows the case in question:
I would like to congratulate you on your column.
Regarding photo processing outlets with reasonable prices I would like to point out that Tekno Electronics Ltd. of Mosta do not offer exposure films for Lm1 as part of a film development transaction. It's true though that they only charge 12c per print.
Lately I had two occasions to have films developed and, as I am an avid reader of your column, I took the film for developing at Tekno's. On picking up the developed prints, I asked about the offer (i.e. a film for Lm1) but I was told that it was the prices that have gone down and there was no such offer.
A week later my daughter took a film to Tekno's for developing and she was told the same thing when she asked about the offer in question. I don't think this is fair when they are being featured in your page as being one of three outlets who offer a new exposure film for Lm1 as part of the film developing transaction. (Antoinette Bezzina)
I asked Tekno Electronics for their comments:
Further to your letter dated January 7, please note that this must have been an oversight on our part. I have seen to it personally and regularised the matter.
Tekno Electronics Ltd. offers developing at 12c per print and a film for Lm1 on developing a film.
I sincerely apologise to Ms Bezzina for the inconvenience. (Jackie Camilleri, general manager)
I thank Ms Camilleri for her co-operation.
Well, there it is. If, after having obtained information about establishments featured in our lists, you discover that a specific promise is not being honoured, write to me and copy in the relevant establishment.
