A Valletta man was yesterday charged with forging cheques.

Lawrence Spiteri, 21, pleaded guilty to the forgery on and before September 12 last year after stealing cheques from Jimmy Aquilina, George and Josephine Farrugia and Keith and Jonathan Pace.

He was also accused of defrauding them or other people out of Lm4,146.

The case continues.

Police Inspector Edel M. Camilleri prosecuted.

Dr Joseph Giglio appeared for the defendant.
