I am a Vodafone subscriber and some days ago I tried to access this new service to call my business partner abroad. I got through to the local platform and followed the instructions. However, after putting in the PIN as instructed I was not given international access. Eventually I had to terminate the call. I tried a number of times and the same thing happened, during peak times of the day. Only after trying from a fixed line did I manage to get through.
What is unacceptable, besides the misleading advertising and the obvious poor quality of service, is the fact that I will now be charged for a local call by my mobile service provider even for those unsuccessful calls. I tried to speak to Vodafone's Customer Care but all they could tell me was that it was not their service and they did not support it.
Obviously, this international VOIP service is not always good enough for local mobile callers because of quality, and neither does it pay to use the service to call a mobile abroad because of the high rates.
