Daniel Bogdanovic, the Valletta striker, believes his chances of landing a contract with Bulgarian club ChernoMore have been greatly enhanced after his three-day trial with them earlier this week.

The 22-year-old Bogdanovic returned to Malta yesterday morning after spending three days training with ChernoMore, currently sixth in the Division One League on 21 points.

"I took part in a friendly game on Wednesday against a team from Division Two. I scored two goals in a 5-0 victory for ChernoMore," a satisfied Bogdanovic told The Times.

"During my sojourn in Bulgaria, I had three training sessions with the first team and I can say I am very pleased with my contribution.

"I have spoken to the players and the coaching staff and they were also satisfied. This is one of the best trials I have had so far in my career but now it's up to ChernoMore and my agent to discuss matters," Bogdanovic, a key member of the Maltese national squad, said.

Bogdanovic, whose two-goal performance helped Valletta to a 3-0 victory over Pietà Hotspurs last Saturday, is now expected to turn out for the Citizens in tomorrow's Premier League match against Marsaxlokk.

Valletta are also hoping to field their new Bulgarian signing, 24-year-old midfielder Rumen Galabov in tomorrow's game but, at the time of writing, his international clearance had not yet arrived.
