The Labour Party yesterday launched its campaign leading up to the March local council elections.
Speaking to members of Labour district committees, leader Alfred Sant said the party's national and local manifestos, as well as the candidates, would be announced shortly.
Dr Sant said the party had been working on the campaign for the past 10 months and the theme chosen was Partnership, l-ahjar ghazla (Partnership, the best choice).
The party wanted to have a partnership with all the local communities, and that was why the theme had been chosen.
Labour would conduct a massive door-to door, face-to-face campaign, he said.
"No one will manage to distract our attention from this campaign, not even the referendum or general election. We are prepared to guarantee a change in local councils as well as in government," Dr Sant said.
Labour delivered what it promised, he said, and where Labour-dominated councils had not done so it was because the central government had hampered their work.
