Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna has expressed solidarity with Zejtun council over the recent acts of vandalism on historic property at Zejtun.

The foundation said: "It is indeed sad to see that not everyone appreciates the excellent work of this council, which is certainly one of the most successful local councils in Malta since they were introduced in the early 1990s".

Fortunately, the foundation said, the damage caused to the entrance of the Gnien tal-Kmand was only superficial, though regrettably the same could not be said for the extensive damage caused by fire to the artistic door and the front of the council's office.
