Apart from being University of Malta employees, René Sacco and Ruth Frendo have one other very basic thing in common: they both have artistic inclinations.

Sacco is an artist and he expresses this inborn flair by experimenting with various media and has produced watercolour, pen and oil paintings together with clay statuettes and other models.

Apart from this, he collects numerous items; among his favourites are holy pictures in general and Christmas cards depicting classical Nativity scenes and other related subjects.

On the other hand, Ruth is a versatile actress who has worked in various TV programmes and at the moment is appearing in Ipokriti and also has worked in international films such as Gladiator and Fuga d'Amore. She is also a presenter and is currently presenting and producing a cultural programme called Kalejdoskopju on Education 22 Channel.

One of the subjects of Kalejdoskopju was holy pictures, and Ruth naturally invited René to appear on the programme and to discuss the subject, including information about Malta's own holy pictures, known as tac-cikwejra.
