A Syrian man was yesterday fined Lm450 for employing two men without a work permit.

Hamida Anuar, 28, pleaded guilty to employing the men on and before January 16.

Meanwhile, Shahod Al Yousef, 19, and Gheyas Dahrouj, 29, were arraigned separately and pleaded not guilty to working without a permit.

Both were denied bail.

Police Inspectors Nadia Lanzon and Denise Mula prosecuted.

Dr Franco Debono appeared for Anuar and Yousef while Dr Chris Soler appeared for Dahrouj.
