A report has been filed with the Valletta police after a "supplier of goods" to outlets in Valletta assaulted a Valletta Rehabilitation Project employee at the VRP offices in the capital yesterday.

The VRP said the supplier also hurled threats and abuse as he protested against the newly installed bollards to control traffic entering Republic Street.

The VRP condemned the attitude of certain shop suppliers who, it said, expected no control on access to Republic Street.

The VRP said some members of the commercial community continued to ignore the instructions to use the street only during specific times and expected traffic to enter at all hours.
