Some of Malta's prominent classical performers will be in attendance at a musical evening being held by the Lions Club Sliema at the Manoel Theatre in support of promising artists wanting to further their studies.

The performers include piano duo Jennifer Micallef and Glen Inanga, pianist Maureen Galea, saxophonist Joseph Vella, mezzo soprano Claire Massa accompanied on the piano by Sharon Gauci and Caroline Calleja.

The concert, being held on Friday at 7.30 p.m., will be under the direction of Mro Dion Buhagiar.

Lions International have recently urged all affiliate clubs to present to the community a Lions Signature Project to exemplify the We Serve motto.

Lions Club Sliema assessed various proposals before identifying a significant community need of assisting promising artists to further their studies.

In line with this commitment, the Lions Club Sliema is using Extravaganza Muzikali - as the musical evening has been titled - as the launching pad for its Arts Foundation that aims to assist promising artists to realise their potential.

Booking is open at the Manoel Theatre or on 21237340 or e-mail bookings@teatrumanoel.com.mt.

Contributions towards the Lions Club Sliema Arts Foundation may be sent to PO Box 62, Sliema.
