¤ The Cana Movement is organising a Family Week. It starts today with a concelebrated Mass, led by Bishop Nikol Cauchi, with the participation of Chorus Urbanus, at Ta' Pinu Sanctuary at 5 p.m.

The concluding ceremony, presided over by President Guido de Marco, with the participation of the Chorus Urbanus, will be held at Ta' Cenc Hotel, on Saturday at 6.30 p.m. During the ceremony, a shield will be awarded to the Family of the Year, as well as to Mgr Charles Vella, founder of the Movement, in recognition of his work.

¤ Anglican Mass, celebrated by Fr Alan Woods, will be held at the Sacred Heart Seminary Chapel on Wednesday at 11 a.m. For more information call Tony Prescott on 2155-2483.

¤ A public discussion on communication between members of the family is being held at the headquarters of Catholic Action in Victoria, on Friday at 7 p.m.

¤ A high tea is being organised by the Ladies' Society at St George's parish centre, Victoria, on Friday at 7 p.m.

¤ Prayer meetings are being organised by the Bethel Charismatic Group at Fontana parish church, on Saturday at 7 p.m., and by the Diocesan Eucharistic Movement at Savina church, Victoria, on Saturday at 8 p.m.

¤ A bird show is being organised by Xaghra council in collaboration with the Gozo Bird Breeders Society, next to St Anthony church, Xaghra, on Sunday from 8.30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Birds must not be in small cages. Registration, free of charge, must be made with Robert Azzopardi (tel. 2155-3106 or 9922-8796) till Wednesday from 3.30 to 7 p.m.

¤ Xaghra council, in collaboration with the Gozo Kennel Club, is organising a dog show on St Anthony Square, on Sunday from 9.30 a.m. to noon. Dogs of any species, with or without pedigree, may take part, and prizes will be awarded to the winners of every category and to the best dog in show. Registration, free of charge, must be made with the Gozo Kennel Club (tel. 2156-3518 or 2156-5492) till Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m.

¤ The University of Malta - Gozo Centre will be holding a one-day seminar entitled "Understanding dyslexia and maximising a dyslexic student's potential" on Saturday February 1 from 9.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The seminar will explore the nature of dyslexia as a language difficulty and will give suggestions on how to help dyslexic children both at home and at school.
