The two matches scheduled for this weekend bring to a close the Kinnie League's second round. Today Hamrun Liberty Go Mobile take on Pembroke Tumas Group and tomorrow afternoon Stingers face Siggiewi.

Pembroke will be looking to avenge their first round upset to Hamrun and occupy the runner-up spot all by themselves. At present, both teams are locked on the 11-point mark, three behind Luxol.

Reds' coach Joe Galea will be keeping his fingers crossed that influential duo, Omar Said and Michael Naudi, will continue to show progress in their form as Hamrun's fortunes will depend much on the presence of the experienced Albert Spiteri. He skipped his team's previous outing, a 76-70 defeat to Siggiewi, due to injury.

With Spiteri in the team Hamrun are a different kettle of fish. His absence underneath the boards was sorely missed last weekend as Hamrun lost the duel and the match.

Siggiewi's morale is on the upward trend after halting Hamrun's march and now they are favourites to add Stingers' scalp to their collection.

Stingers will be after their second victory tomorrow as they seek to join Siggiewi in the standings.

Six women's teams this week are involved in the preliminary round of the Louis Borg Cup.

Ties from this competition are played on two legs but most probably Depiro Still, Hibs Go Mobile and Naxxar Danone will have qualification wrapped up after the opening tie at the expense of Gozo, Hamrun Liberty Tivoli and Kerygma respectively.
