The third round from the winter karting championship at Badger Karting, Ta' Qali, was held earlier this month.

The format on the day included an eighth-minute qualifier in anti-clockwise direction followed by a 15-minute race the other way round.

Race one saw Luke Vella Clark continuing with his rapid improvement as he took maximum points, shrugging off a stiff challenge from Jonathan Debono who had to settle for second place ahead of Andrea Frendo.

Peter Bugeja had no problems to win race two. Two rookies, Dimitrius Cauchi and Dennis Privitera, claimed the other two places on the podium.

Race three featured the top seven drivers in the standings as all present anticipated a tight affair. As it turned out, however, the tussle for first place was a non-contest as the vintage Jacob Borg ran away to victory.

Second and third spots were a different story, as no fewer than four drivers were in with a chance. Karl Cilia took the runner-up position while Josef Spiteri, after qualifying fifth, recovered well to claim third place.

Fastest lap of the night belonged to Jacob Borg - 38.20.
