Promotion contenders Gharb Rangers suffered their first upset of the season in their match against Kercem Ajax. Franco Azzopardi hit a brace in the opening half to put the Ajax 2-0 ahead but Ray Gafa pulled one back before the interval.

In the 52nd minute, Kercem had Harry Cassar sent off but soon after it was 3-1 after a fine Elton Vella goal. Peter Ohaka made it 3-2 from the penaltyspot but Gharb still failed to save a point.

In their previous match, Kercem had conceded a defeat to Oratory Youths, with the goal that mattered coming in the 90th minute through Mario Farrugia.

St Lawrence Spurs registered their first championship points of the season after a goalless draw with SK Victoria Wanderers and a 2-0 win in their following match against Oratory Youths.
