Two top chefs from Beijing are taking part in the international food festival being held at the New Dolmen Hotel in Qawra between tomorrow and Tuesday.

Zhou Deyou was the personal chef for the President of Namibia between 1992 and 1994, while Zhang Yan was for six years the head chef at the Chinese Embassy in Portugal.

The hotel is making the most of their presence, and is organising a Chinese night on Saturday, offering Chinese food, music and singing, and a Tai Chi demonstration.

One of the highlights of the chefs' demonstration will be making noodles by hand, from specially imported flour.

Their visit was made possible with the help of the Malta China Friendship Society's president, Reno Calleja.
