Nature reserve

I refer to the article on pages 20 and 21 of January 6, to point out that the picture of the bird with its young is incorrectly captioned.

The bird is really a moorhen, not a black winged stilt.

Had it been a black winged stilt it would have probably entered in the records because, according to my information, a bird of that kind has never bred in Malta.

On the other hand, moorhens breed regularly, especially in our few nature reserves.

Congratulations for the article, it was very interesting and informative; the more articles on nature are published, the more readers appreciate the importance of conserving our countryside.
