Sliema Band congratulated

The comune of Tesero and the Federation of Musical Bands of the province of Trento in

Italy have approved resolutions congratulating the Sliema Band for its two concerts in Predazzo and Tesero in the Val di Fiemme on the Dolomites last August.

An official document recognising excellent standards has been sent to the Sliema Band by the mayor of Tesero, Giovanni Delladio.

The mayor paid tribute to the band's "deployment of Malta's culture in Italy", for bringing the two countries nearer to each other through their common Latin and European characteristics.

The public appreciation for the concerts in the Trentino region was also expressed in a document by Prof. Claudio Luchini, president of the federation, who underlined the cultural contribution of the Sliema Band in Trentino in the perspective of a richer European diversification of cultures.

A spokesman for the Sliema Band said the Banda Sociale Erminio Deflorian from Tesero will visit Malta in July to take part in the feast of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart in Sliema.
