More than Lm650 were raised last Sunday at Ta' Qali's Basketball Pavilion where a sizeable crowd had gathered for the first Maltahoops All-Star Afternoon.

The sum collected went to the YMCA Homeless Shelter. The event got underway with a three-point shooting competition, won by Steve Schembri ahead of Adrian Micallef. The latter also had to settle for the runner-up position in the Slam Dunk competition, behind winner Addison Bonnici.

The All Star Game was won by Joe Galea's Knights who beat the Falcons selection, coached by John Tabone, 108-85.

Most Valid Player on the day was Siggiewi's Nathan Farrugia.
