I have a positive experience to report in the "catch them doing something good" part of the Customer Service Column.

I would like to publicly thank the Social Security Department, especially Karen Farrugia, for having taken the time to phone me to ask for certain details and then sending me a detailed account regarding my request for a revision of the income tax withheld from my pension. I am very grateful for the full information, and prompt reply and action taken.

Thank you also for your page in The Sunday Times, which is very helpful. Although I have already thanked Ms Farrugia on the telephone, upon receipt of her reply, I would be pleased if you can publish my thanks in your column. (Giovanna J. Cordina)
