Over 500 competitors are expected to take part in the international gastronomic festival being held at the New Dolmen Hotel in Qawra between January 10-14.

The competition is being organised by the Malta Culinary Association, in collaboration with Euro-Toques International - an association for European chefs - as well as the Chefs and Cooks Circle of the UK.

MCA president Tony Theuma said seven foreign teams have already confirmed their participation in addition to the local participation.

The festival has several categories, ranging from Malta Golden Chef of the Year, to Malta Golden Patissier of the Year and Junior Chef of the Year. Another important category is the Marsovin Wine Waiter of the year.
