Archbishop's Christmas functions

The first Christmastide religious function of the Archbishop, Mgr Joseph Mercieca, will be solemn Vespers on Christmas Eve, at 4.45 p.m., at St John's Co-Cathedral. Also on Christmas Eve, at Mdina Cathedral, at 11.30 p.m., Mgr Mercieca will preside over the celebration of the Liturgy of the Word, followed by the Concelebration of Midnight Mass.
On Christmas Day, Mgr Mercieca will lead a solemn Concelebration at St John's Co-Cathedral at 9.15 a.m.
On December 29, from 9 a.m. to noon, he will be at the Archbishop's Palace, in Valletta, to receive those members of the public who may wish to convey their season's greetings to him personally. The Archbishop will be accompanied by Mgr Annetto Depasquale, Auxiliary Bishop.
On December 31, at 5.30 p.m., he will preside over the Concelebration of the Mass for Peace on the occasion of Peace Day 2003.
On January 18, Mgr Mercieca will celebrate Mass at St John's Co-Cathedral in Valletta at 6.30 p.m., for the newly-weds of 2002.
All the offices of the Archbishop's Curia, Floriana, including the marriages office and the administration section, as well as the offices of the Ecclesiastical Tribunal, Valletta will be closed for the Christmas festivities as from Monday. All these offices will open again to the public as from January 3.
