Verbal submissions were made yesterday in the appeals being heard by the Court of Appeal over the broadcasting of information spots on the European Union on state television.

The Broadcasting Authority had appealed from the Civil Court judgment authorising the Nationalist Party to broadcast its spots on Public Broadcasting Services Limited free of charge.

PBS has appealed from the decision of the Civil Court authorising the Malta Labour Party to broadcast its spots on the alternative to EU membership on TVM free of charge, while the IVA movement had appealed from the judgment dismissing its request to broadcast its spots in reply to those of the MLP.

All cases have been put off for January 14 for judgment.
