The police have filed a perjury charge against a 37-year-old lawyer in the Magistrates' Court registry, sources said yesterday.

The case is to be heard in January before Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera and dates back to November 1 when a hearing on bail was held before Chief Justice Vincent DeGaetano.

Police Inspector Joseph Cordina will be prosecuting.
