Off to ski in Livigno

Ms Josephine Farrugia of Swatar will be off skiing in the beautiful village of Livigno later this month after winning The Sunday Times-YTC travel competition which was held over three weeks last month.

The competition consisted of three questions related to skiing and Livigno and a tie question at the end which asked participants to describe what makes a skiing holiday in Livigno unforgettable.

In her answer Ms Farrugia said that Livigno's beautiful scenery, the superb facilities and the non-stop activities are all one can wish for, on an unforgettable holiday. Livigno lies 1,800 metres above sea level in a sheltered valley in Italy, situated close to the Swiss and Austrian borders. The surrounding mountains tower to 3,000 metres. The actual skiing appeals to all types of skiers. 100 bars, pubs and restaurants are scattered throughout the valley, togther with two large discotheques, Ko Ko Di and Cielo.
