Sea Malta, together with Bureau Veritas recently hosted an afternoon seminar for the various players in the industry, including representatives from Gozo Channel, the Malta Maritime Authority and Tug Malta among others.

The aim of the seminar was to share the experience and procedures involved in obtaining International Safety Management accreditation.

Although compliance with the ISM code for cargo carriers became compulsory earlier this year, Sea Malta obtained ISM accreditation for its vessel Zebbug in November 1999 and for the Maltese Falcon in July 2000.

Sea Malta chairman Marlene Mizzi said that in organising the seminar the company wanted to share its experience in obtaining ISM accreditation with other local organisations which are in the process of obtaining accreditation.
