An Air Malta inquiry into the October 13 incident when one of its aircraft suddenly lost 300 feet while on a flight from France has established that the incident was caused by turbulence from an Egyptair Boeing 747 which had been given clearance by Italian controllers to go up to the flight level of the Air Malta jet without the required lateral separation, Economic Services Josef Bonnici said.

Six persons on the Air Malta fight, including four passengers were injured. The minister was replying to a question in parliament by Nationalist MP Mario Galea.
