A Qormi man was yesterday conditionally discharged for three years for seriously injuring his girlfriend in Paceville four years ago.

David Falzon Fava, 22, pleaded guilty to seriously injuring Graziella Dimech by hitting her with a glass on her jaw in Paceville on October 11, 1998, at about 12.30 a.m. On handing down judgment, Magistrate Joseph Cassar took into consideration Falzon Fava's clean criminal record.

Police Inspector Stephen Gatt prosecuted.

Dr Franco Debono appeared for the defendant.
