St Albert the Great College is taking part in a five-school Comenius project entitled 'Mother Nature's Workshop'.

The main objective is to promote transnational cooperation and exchange experiences through the exploration of different aspects of social diversity within European culture.

The three-year project is based on an environmental theme and the different schools will be engaged in the exploration of their surrounding natural environment.

The children will be sharing what they have learnt through the use of creative and imaginative writing, art, drama, music and information technology.

St Albert the Great College, Valletta, represents Malta while the coordinating school is Staunton and Corse School in Gloucester, England.

The other participating schools are Southmoor, Greenland Community Infant School from County Durham, Bangsund Skole in Norway, and the Escola 1 CEB de Parceiros in Portugal.

Representatives from the participating schools in October met for three days in Staunton and Corse School, to discuss and agree a plan of action for the coming three years.

The participants were also given detailed hands-on training in managing and updating the website created specifically for this project.

During the past week, children at St Albert have been making Christmas cards using recycled materials.

These will be exchanged with those from children from the other participating countries.
