Organ recitalist Roger Fisher is performing at St John's Co-Cathedral on Tuesday at 7.30 p.m., under the patronage of British High Commissioner Vincent Fean. He will play works by Mendelssohn, Bach, Darke and Reubke.

Mr Fisher was born in Woodford, Essex and was educated at Bancroft's School. He furthered his education at the Royal College of Music, gaining his ARCM, FRCO and CHM diplomas, winning the Geoffrey Tankard Prize for organ playing. He was awarded an organ scholarship at Christ Church, Oxford, and, following his graduation from Oxford, moved to Hereford as assistant organist at the Cathedral and assistant lecturer in music at the College of Education.

In 1967 he was appointed organist and master of the choristers at Chester Cathedreal and in 1992 directed the music for the Royal maundy.
